This week Vic and Marissa unbox Assassin’s Creed for Xbox One. They show off the cool figurine, the artbook, and the contents inside this cool set. They go on to talk about Chris Nolan as a director and the Big Hero 6 movie – which you should just go and watch right now. Lucky you, they do a double Toy break this episode and more! Click the play button and enjoy!

I feel like a big problem in the gamer community is the constant use of hyperbole, everything is either “the greatest game ever!” or “a complete piece of garbage!” and everyone jumps on one bandwagon or the other. There should be more appreciation of what games are and what each one does well or fails to do. Its this attitude that i think helped kill the double A mid tear games, if your game doesnt get a 9 its trash, even though its in that mid-tear space that a lot of innovation and experimentation could happen and where we used to get a lot of fun games from. It should be ok if your game scores a 7 not a mark of shame.
Great show as usual
– so sick of Assasin’s creed. They should set the whole game in the future.
– love the show but listening to Vic talk about how the industry is dying for the millionth time is sooooo boring. I get it. You hate free to play.
– my suggestion is to go over the top five stories of the week and discuss. I would look forward to this much more than toy break.
– I would love for Vic to show off some of his most prized comics. Especially if he has really old Batman ones.
– also can you please change the picture for Vic’s basement to include Marissa? She deserves some recognition!!!!
Having the VB Icon as Scott gives us all hope he will return as the REGULAR co-host.
Nick, your comment is a breath of fresh air. Thank you for saying what really needed to be said (for some time now).
Regardless of my handle, I actually never wanted to be the one to “shine the spotlight” on the oh so obvious elephant in the room, but now that people have spoken, I must chime in and say that ever since the addiction of the new co-host, the show has simply faltered. Not just the podcast either. I feel as though Marissa could be a very good host, if she knew how to step aside a bit more. The problem is lies in the fact that Marissa is young (and that is okay!) but it takes away from the air of credibility that we had before. When she is present on the podcast… conversation turns light and airy (again, there is a time and place for all things) but I do want the old bro-force back. Scott and Vic were unhinged. They breathed fire! They argued, they spat, they cursed, there was a palpable energy that could not be found elsewhere! I sat there MANY TIMES listening to the audio-only podcast MESMERIZED. Forgive me if I want that back!
Fast forward to today and things have really been toned down (part of this might even be the switch to Twitch). And the conversations have grown a bit repetitive and monotonous. Or, on the flip side, Scott and Marissa will host the podcast and it turns in to flirty, giggly hour (and AGAIN — that’s fine but you cannot forget what came before! A stellar podcast it once was!!)
Francis – No offense meant. We get that you like Marissa. That is A-OK. But we have the right to give constructive criticism where it is due.
Man, I’m spent. I hope I came across somewhat fair.
Someone buy Scott the date night he needs so badly and let’s move forward…
I’ve decided to unsubscribe. I’ve been watching Vic for probably 15 years but something’s just not working for me anymore. I enjoy Vic and Scott together but it doesn’t seem like that’ll happen anytime soon.
Good luck with the show. Ps. Garden warfare has been free on the Xbox one for ea access subscribers for a while. I know you like to say there’s nothing to play on that system, but I think if you looked you’d see there is.
I agree – Marissa just doesn’t have the same level of unique and intelligent input into the conversations as Scott does. To me, it lowers the quality of the discussion and leaves me bored, wanting more. There’s very few moments of “wow, great point,” or “I never thought about it that way.” the Ah-Ha moments are gone.
I’m going to stick with it for a bit longer, but a number of people I know have also stopped viewing/listening to anything on the EP Network. Perhaps the intelligent design will return.
I agree. But don’t lose heart. I think this is merely a “bump in the road”.
