Victor Lucas, Ben Silverman, and Steve Tilley are in the Basement while on the road and are talking about Pre-E3 Impressions. Microsoft’s Xbox One Strategy is brought up: everything from Kinect to their tone and presentation, and how they’ve succeeded before. We overview the different companies’ strategies and the sense of self-celebration permeating the industry. Finally, the three musketeers discuss the games they want to see next.
Since they’re on the road, there is no video. Instead we feature some gratuitous swearing!

I’m not much of a Halo or Call of Duty fan but I do recognize the strength of Microsoft and the XBox One but, Microsoft has always been sub par from the start in my opinion. That said, if the XBox One gets dropped down to the Wii U’s price range and bundle up a bunch of games, features and XBox Live subscriptions, THEEEN it’ll be a big success at this year’s E3.
Microsoft needs to get their own original and new ideas instead of ripping them off of others, like that resort island….. oh wait, i’m thinking of Wii Sports Resort.Island.
Speaking of Assassin’s Creed in space, whatever happened to Prey 2? That was some bladerunner esque bounty hunter in space, looked pretty cool in the cinematic then nothing. Disappeared.
I think you guy’s are completely right about Microsoft. I have a 360 but moved towards the PS4 when the new consoles were announced. Microsoft keeps flip/flopping on their own ideas and like you guys said seem to show their own insecurity towards their own console.
the exclusives is what draws me in. And they have made things like XBLA that have made endless exclusives. And the community.
I LOVE the xbox and the 360. I bought the Xbox One on launch day. While I don’t regret my purchase, I’m pretty disappointed in the games available for the console so far. Where are they? Right now my XBOne is a great netflix player.
