Child of Light Coming to Vita

Child of Light

Child of Light is whisking its way to PlayStation Vita at the start of July, Ubisoft announced today.

Developed by a small team at Ubisoft Montreal led by Patrick Plourde, who served as creative director on 2012’s Far Cry 3 prior to this project, Child of Light tells the coming-of-age tale of Aurora, an Austrian girl who falls ill and dies, but wakes post-life in the fantastical realm of Lemuria. There, she is tasted with saving the land from the malevolent machinations of the Queen of the Night. Gameplay unfolds in a mix of side-scrolling exploration and turn-based combat influenced by Final Fantasy‘s ATB system and Grandia.

The JRPG- and fairytale-inspired downloadable launched across Windows PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U at the end of April. The Vita version will arrive in North America July 1, Europe July 2. For more on Ubisoft’s indie-style developed, UbiArt-powered watercolor-come-to-life, check out my review.
