Éric Chahi’s classic cinematic platformer Another World launches on PlayStation 4 next week, the designer announced in an interview on the PlayStation Blog.
The PS4 version will, expectedly, feature higher definition assets that clock in at a 2560×1600 pixel resolution, smoothed edges during animations, and multiple soundtracks (including the Sega-CD one and a cinematic soundtrack).
According to Chahi and his port partner Martial Hesse-Dréville, the hardest challenge to bringing Another World (known as Out of this World stateside) to PS4 was plishing the animations, which required them to shove the square peg of modernity into the round hole of 20-year-old technology: the Amiga editor containing the original data Éric used to construct Another World in 1991.
Another World launches on PS4 on Wednesday, June 25.
