The world has four years to rebuild before Godzilla returns.
Legendary Pictures has announced that the sequel to the recent Godzilla reboot will stomp theatres on June 8, 2018. This will give director Gareth Edwards enough time to finish his next film, the first Star Wars spin-off, which is due out in December 2016. Legendary has already confirmed that the new Godzilla will feature the return of other classic Japanese kaiju like Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah, which should be more than enough competition for the King of the Monsters.
The people at Legendary Pictures must really like giant monsters. They’re also working on a new film based on the original King Kong coming in 2016, and a sequel to Pacific Rim coming in 2017.
