It looks like the Marvel movies have found their most sinister evil doer.
Latino Review and multiple other sources report that Josh Brolin is set to provide the voice of the villainous Thanos in the Marvel cinematic universe. If the news is true, Brolin will first voice the character in this year’s Guardians of the Galaxy, where he’s expected to appear mid-way through the film. He’ll then reprise the role in future Marvel movies like The Avengers: Age of Ultron, where he’ll play a bigger and more malicious role. Thanos first appeared on the big screen during the end credits sting in The Avengers, where he was played by a different actor.
Josh Brolin doesn’t have a lot of experience as a voice actor, but that hasn’t mattered to Marvel in the past. James Spader is voicing the robotic Ultron, with Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel lending their pipes to Guardians of the Galaxy. This won’t be Brolin’s first comic book movie, either. He played Jonah Hex in the forgettable adaptation of the DC Comics franchise.
