A few weeks ago, Disney revealed that Godzilla director Gareth Edwards will helm the first Star Wars spin-off movie, now we know who will direct the second.
Disney has officially announced that Josh Trank, the director behind the found footage superhero movie Chronicle, will helm the second Star Wars spin-off. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy says he’s a perfect fit for the franchise, and like most filmmakers his age, Star Wars has inspired him since he was a child. There’s no official word yet on what his spin-off will be about, but it’s rumoured to be focusing on Han Solo, with Edwards working on the Boba Fett movie.
Josh Trank is currently shooting the Fantastic Four reboot, due out next year. Expect his Star Wars spin-off to land sometime in 2018.
