Marvel’s long-awaited Doctor Strange movie just got one big step closer to theatres.
The big screen adaptation of the magical comic book hero will be directed by Scott Derrickson, the filmmaker behind the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still and the 2012 horror movie Sinister. Derrickson himself confirmed the news on Twitter, and now that he’s on board expect the first casting announcements soon. There’s no official word on who might play the lead, but there have been several rumoured contenders.
It’s unclear if Doctor Strange will interfere with the other movies Scott Derrickson is working on. He’s already attached to direct Sinister 2, along with the big screen adaptation of the Deus Ex video game series. His latest film, Deliver Us From Evil, will hit theatres on July 2.
