Chronicle and Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan is already expected to appear in the new Fantastic Four movie and a Rocky spin-off. Now, The Wrap reports that he’s met with director Roland Emmerich about taking one of the lead roles in Independence Day 2.
It seems several other up and coming young actors have also auditioned for the film, but Jordan is reportedly near the top of the list. There’s no word yet on exactly what character he might play, but he’d be the right age to play Will Smith’s adopted son, who you may remember from the first film. It remains to be seen if Will Smith himself will be back. Expect the first official casting news to be announced closer to the start of production, which is currently slated for early 2014.
Independence Day 2 will invade cinemas on July 3, 2015.
