PS4 and Vita gamers aren’t the only ones who will be able to relive one of the best adventure games ever made.
Double Fine Productions has announced that the upcoming remastered version of Grim Fandango will be released on the PC, Mac, and Linux machines, along with the already-announced Sony platforms. Fandago fans are sure to breathe a sigh of relief, but it doesn’t look like Xbox One or Wii U owners will be able to get in, because Sony has said that it will be a PlayStation console exclusive.
The original Grim Fandango was released in 1998, and was created by Double Fine’s owner Tim Schafer when he was still working for Lucasarts. It didn’t sell well despite critical praise and a loyal cult following, which prompted Lucasarts to forget about it until Disney bought the company in 2012. Lucasarts, Sony, and Double Fine are all working together on the remastered version, which will offer new graphics and audio, and all the same memorable humour. There’s no word yet on when it will arrive.
