Sonic Boom Gets New Character

Sonic Boom will introduce new character to Sonic’s gang: Sticks, the “jungle badger,” Sega announced today.

“Sticks is a significant addition to the Sonic Boom universe and the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, “chief content officer of all-things Sonic Hiroyuki Miyazaki said in a press release. “She brings a quirky personality and perspective to the team dynamic, and we look forward to sharing this energetic and funny new character with the world.”

Sticks will be voiced by Nika Futterman, whose previous voice acting roles include Vendra Prog in Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus, Asajj Ventress in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Adam Lyon in My Gym Partner’s a Monkey. Her character will appear across all Sonic Boom properties, including the upcoming 3DS and Wii U games.

Big Red Button Entertainment, a studio consisting of former Naughty Dog, Heavy Iron, Luxo Flux, andHigh Impact veterans, is developing the Wii U version of Sonic Boom, while the 3DS game is being handled by Sanzaru Games is handling the 3DS version.
