Wildcat Coming to Arrow

Things are about to get a lot more furry on Arrow.

Deadline reports that actor J.R. Ramirez has been cast as the DC hero Wildcat in the upcoming third season of the show. There have been several different versions of Wildcat since the character first appeared in 1942, but the show will use the most famous version, Ted Grant. He’s a boxer who dons a superhero costume in order to clear his name after he becomes entangled with the criminal underworld.

In the comics, Wildcat is also a member of the Justice Society for America, along with others heroes like Flash, Hawkman, Hourman, and Green Lantern. Flash is already getting his own spin-off show, so does this mean that some of those other heroes might be appearing in the new DC universe at some point in the future? Only time will tell.

The producers of Arrow recently announced that the Batman villain Ra’s al Ghul will also be coming to the show in its third season, but there’s no word yet on who might play him. The new season begins October 8.
