Which of the transformers movies would you guys say is the best and worst? I thought the first one was ok, and the last two were terrible.
From Mr. Bay? I’ll give the first one to him, but it should have stopped there.
We haven’t suffered enough yet apparently. There will be two more, and I don’t plan on seeing the new one. I’d like to keep my remaining brain cells for now.
This movie is great…Love the transformers movies. The first was definitely the best but all of them are action packed and very entertaining.
‘Transformers’ Huge in Box Office Return with Possible $100 Million Weekend
The giant robots of “Transformers: Age of Extinction” stomped impressively into U.S. theaters on Friday with early estimates as high as $100 million for the film’s launch weekend.
If that number holds, Paramount’s fourth “Transformers” would take the title for top opening weekend of 2014 by surpassing the $95 million gross for Disney-Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” which opened the first weekend in April.”
I guess a lot of people don’t agree with Marissa and Vic’s review
Box-office numbers can’t be used to judge everyone’s enjoyment of a movie because many people could see the film and still not enjoy it. Some of the poor people who subjected themselves to this mind-numbing movie contributed to the absurd box-office numbers but also agree with Vic and Marissa. Transformers: Age of Extinction is definitely one of the year’s worst even if the masses get tricked into seeing it. I have a hard time believing anyone would like this misogynistic and artless trash.
That google VR thing sounds extremely stupid. The VR thing is getting ridiculous and and I guarantee it will be a fad like 3D TVs
My parents LOVE their 3D TV and it’s hilarious.
my parents bought one too and thought it was the greatest thing. Funny thing is I think the 3D feature has only been used once or twice on their TV.
Marissa needs to calm down. She just jumps between logical reasoning for why the movie is bad to long stretches of blatantly hating M. Bay.
I know it’s a pod cast and being passionate about your opinion is a thing but at least try to make your argument sensible and be aware of your bias.
The puffing and mouth farting while others are talking is rude.
Ok, sure! Easy behavioural changes. Do you think yoga before the podcast would work? I’ll definitely have to cut caffeine COMPLETELY, which will ensure just the right amount of lethargy and sadness. If that doesn’t work, I’ll try to buy some valium, but I’m just not sure how to get my hands on the heavies, you know?
Being the person you want me to be for a better tomorrow!!
(But really though, we need to be a team. I know it’s tough to stop these negative thoughts we have because they’re only natural, but we can at least try to pump the brakes a little, everyday. #NoLadyH8.)
I just had to comment on this. So much of Marissa’s commentary is spot on and as a G1 TF fan I hate the idea that there’s any suggestion that these movies do any sort of fan service. JAZZ. Went from Scatman Crothers to Eddie Winslow. Over the years Transformers has been reimagined in video games, comics and many animated TV series, without being so overtly offensive to anyone who understood the fun and magic of what was essentially a glorified toy commercial in the early 80s. What is offensive is how Bay, the writers, and producers have so blatantly ignored everything innocent about this property and turned it into something that just feels so gross.
I don’t begrudge people who can watch these movies and enjoy them, as just another multi-bajilliondollar jerkcircle funtime Friday evening out, but I am so tired of anyone who tries to claim they are “good” movies, a great reimagining of the original transformers, or “cool”.
The story is somehow worse than a toy commerical from the 80s, the dialogue is like terrible, the jokes are barely jokes, the misogyny is tasty, and the action is more often than not a mess of metal bullshit,
That being said, watch the 86 Transformers movie. It rules.
Also, to anyone who attacks Vic, Marissa, Scott etc… voice your opinion, disagree, it’s all good. But if you really don’t like the hosts, get your own show. Seriously. Do it better. God damn.
Yup. ’86 Movie RULES!! Best Transformers movie in theatres in terms of action AND story. Not even close
The part where Marissa and Vic were talking about how this last Transformers flick ended is comedy gold!! The reference to Poochie the Dog from the Simpsons’ Itchy & Scratchy Show was the icing on the cake. I was drinking milk while watching this podcast and ended up almost spitting it out from laughter.
Great review, guys!!
I don’t get reading/playing games/whatever in the washroom. Isn’t it better to get in and get out? Maybe the diet doesn’t allow it.
Marissa, before hating on Michael Bay for “sexualizing the daughter” in Transformers, please be aware that you do that to male actors on a constant basis on Reviews on the Run and Vics Basement: Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, etc. Please be consistent and professional – it’s getting old.
